What AT-LARGE means

Voters throughout the Goshen Community Schools district can vote for Rick Yoder.

Rick is running for an AT-LARGE seat, so his candidacy is districtwide rather than limited to one neighborhood or board district.

Four priorities

Focused on what matters most

A school board should set direction, insist on measurable results, support strong leadership, and represent the community with transparency and common sense.

1

Students First

Raise academic achievement and prepare students for college, careers, skilled trades, military service, entrepreneurship, and life.

2

Safe Schools

Support orderly classrooms, clear expectations, strong discipline, and practical safety procedures that protect students and staff.

3

Responsible Stewardship

Protect taxpayers, maintain strong reserves, scrutinize debt, and plan carefully for facilities and long-term capital needs.

4

Accountability

Set measurable goals, publish understandable results, and make decisions based on what works—not what sounds good.

About Rick

Experience that matters

Rick Yoder has worked inside schools, with students, teachers, parents, and administrators—and now brings years of financial experience to public service.

During his education career, Rick served five years as an assistant principal with responsibility for discipline and school safety. In that role, he brought in a safety program that was ultimately used throughout the entire school corporation.

Rick believes students learn best when teachers are supported, expectations are clear, classrooms are orderly, and schools are safe. He also believes school boards must understand budgets, debt, long-term planning, and the responsibility that comes with spending taxpayer dollars.

“Every major decision should answer a simple question: Is this helping our students learn, grow, and succeed?”
